A quick roundup of news in California marriage equality reports around the blogosphere:
From Reuters: Octogenarians Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon took the first vows in San Francisco’s ornate City Hall in a ceremony presided over by Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Huffington Post’s Danny Miller: As I write this, gay and lesbian couples all over California are only minutes away from being able to receive legal marriage licenses for the first time. That seems like a true miracle, especially when you remember that the way was cleared for them by the mostly Republican-appointed California Supreme Court. I was stunned last month when I heard their forceful ruling that any attempts to limit marriage to opposite-sex couples was unconstitutional.
